When You Have Failed at Making Your Own Natural Deodorant, Try This One {Best Purchase of 2016 Link Up}

If you are looking to make the switch to an all natural deodorant, this one's is the winner by far!

If you are looking to make the switch to an all natural deodorant, this one's is the winner by far!

So when I decided to ditch my old toxic deodorant, I thought I would get all granola/ cost-conscious and just make my own (after all, the Doterra chick made it sound so easy). And what I ended up might work for some people...

...people who don't actually move around and sweat, that is.

Dejected after my first few attempts, I dragged my smelly self to the local health food store to sample their wares. Many of the items on the shelves are NOT safer alternatives (ahem, Arm and Hammer and Tom's of Maine) and after reading over a dozen labels, I selected a couple of lines to try...

...only to be frustrated by my now patchouli scented funk.

(Newsflash natural deodorant makers- dirty hippie is not exactly what all of us health conscious folks are going for).

But then I discovered by Best Purchase of 2016- Soapwalla Deodorant Cream. This little 2 oz. wonder inhibits bacteria naturally, using a blend of natural clays and essential oils (in a combination far superior to whatever I was making at home). Aluminum-free, paraben-free, organic, and vegan (if that's your thing).

Yeah, when you switch to natural deodorants, you have to get over the perspiring thing. You will sweat but with a good deodorant, the bacteria can't grow (and you don't stink). And if you've only used commercial deodorants/ antiperspirants, you may have a 2-3 week detoxing period (it's real- read up on it and buy some coconut oil to get through it).

This little baby beats down Arizona summers and half-marathon distance runs better than any other product I've tried. For some reason the citrus blend doesn't work as well for me but the original scent is great. You can also buy Soapwalla Deodorant Cream on Amazon (since you know you're buying everything else there anyway).

Have you made the switch to natural deodorants?
